Directions: Getting to the museum
From JR Otaru Station
Go down Chuo Dori (St.) from JR Otaru Station toward the Otaru Canal.
Turn right into the arcade and walk along Miyako-dori Shopping Street.
At the end of the arcade, turn left onto Nichigin Dori (St.).
Proceed down the hill and the Otaru Museum will be on your right.
From the Otaru Canal (the Asakusa Bridge)
Go down Nichigin Dori (St.) from Ironai 1-chome Crossroads.
Proceed up the hill to find the Otaru Museum on your left.
From Marchen Crossroads (Sakaimachi)
Proceed along Sakaimachi Dori (St.) from Marchen Crossroads for about 10 min.
Turn left at the crossroads where you see a post office, and go up the hill.
Going up the hill, you will find the Otaru Museum on your left.
Public transportation to JR Otaru Station
From New Chitose Airport
By train: about 75 min. by Rapid Airport train from JR New Chitose Airport Station to JR Otaru Station
From Sapporo Station
By train: about 32 min. by Rapid Airport train from JR Sapporo Station to JR Otaru Station
By bus: about 60 min. by the Otaru express bus (Hokkaido Chuo Bus or JR Hokkaido Bus)
The Iwanai, Yoichi, Niseko, and Shakotan express buses also stop at JR Otaru Station.
Parking
Parking is not available at the museum (exceptions are made in special cases). Visitors are recommended to use public transportation.
